The biggest percent of the time is setting up the stabilizer. One thing I have done is after completion, I sew a 4cm long, 1cm wide dart in the middle either side, pressing the dart upwards. This fits the mask to the face without any gaping. My family love them.

Hi Lesley, the staples get cut off. Please refer to Part 2 Step 11 in the tutorial. When you cut along the edge of the stitching, the part that has the staples in is cut off.

Hi Nita, no worries! The steps are the same, just one side at a time, and yes a raw edge is left down the center.
